Reesh Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) Derby match thread They looked lively against Leeds but we should have enough to get over the little blip and get back on track. Edited December 30, 2024 by Reesh Quote
Lee Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Let's hope so mate. A bit of a blip yesterday as you say, that's the championship for you. Here's to 2025 making Hillsborough a bit more of a fortress, I'm confident it will be and we will be top 10 min come May. UTO 2 Quote

Theman Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Saw a stat, we’ve 67 points from 45 league games played in 2024, which would see us in 5th of a league table for the calendar year, for of all the teams that have played all of those games in the championship 👍 1 Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Will DB be back for this one, or does he miss another? I expect DR to make some changes for this, provided there aren’t more out with the virus that’s going around. Windass has been excellent but I’d be concerned at him getting an injury if he keeps playing every game, given his previous record of injuries. Windass is the main scorer at the moment, along with maybe Smith. Its a similar worry with Chalobah after coming back from injury, but he’s been very good since coming in. I know I’m mithering but we really need Ugbo and Musaba to come back firing. Is Icky still injured? We might need him for the battles ahead. Derby and Millwall are two physical games close together and won’t be helped by blustery conditions. The weekend weather looks a bit better. A big crowd tomorrow could provide the energy for us. I’m looking forward to it, I’m glad it’s 3pm ko though, a 12:30 might have been a bit more of a dampener. Quote

I'm used to it, plus Scottish Winter mountains, Norway in February, Alps, plus skiing back in the day. What I'm not used to is watching professional footballers trying to trap a ball whilst it tries to make its mind up which direction it's blowing in! Especially when we're at home recently. 🤬 Quote

Match afternoon now looks decent: breezy with sun & showers. (Not that there's any more risk of them actually knowing what they're talking about!) Quote
HoylandOwl Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Thank god you’ve done that Reesh. I had a match thread waiting to post earlier and just hit post, but then saw This one. Quote

Southy_SWFC Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Disappointed that we don't sing "England's number 1" whenever Beadle makes a save. Quote

owl71 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 A convincing start, but the performance tailed off a bit towards the end of the half. The sheep are only a threat from set pieces or crosses, but they’re probably going to get one that way. Like the balance with Chalaboah and Charles sitting in front of the defence. Ugbo has been anonymous though. Quote
mkowl Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Having called for more in midfield we have had less control than normal. Chalobah does lose possession a bit too easily at times, that pressure at the end came as a result of lazy play. Need to get Gassama into the game he will cause issues. But Marv also needs some help out on that side. Quote
Harry Lime Posted January 1 Posted January 1 We look so fragile defending set pieces, I find myself relying on the oppo's messing it up. Quote
KrolMong Posted January 1 Posted January 1 That’s been an awful display so far. We’ve got an extra body in midfield and Chalobah sitting, and he’s offered no protection and Charles and Bannan are having to help in full back positions, as is Ingelsson. And with the ball. Ugbo is a country mile off it, he’s not showing and offering lines into feet and Derby have bullied him and got tight. We need a quick start in possession and to get Gassama one on one with the full back. Although he’s not being helped by Iorfa who’s distribution is terrible today. Quote
