Harry Lime Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Shouldn't that be the Derby game that is not a Derby game? Or fixture or match, they'd both work as well. Quote
KrolMong Posted November 30 Posted November 30 These are a proper throw back side. As ale house as you will see in the Championship. Direct, second balls, up the pitch as quick as they can. If we stand up to it, we’ll beat them. Quote
Harry Lime Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Quite, I did watch them the other night and they can be a handful right enough. Quote

80s Owl Posted November 30 Posted November 30 On current form we should win this but it's Derby away so we probably won't. Quote

Someone said earlier we have to match them in effort and endeavour, or similar. If we don't, we'll get beat, if we do, we won't. See who turns up and what the team is but we need workers, not shirkers. Gassama and Musaba start, we'll get beat. But they won't. Best thing would be to start Gassama and then swap him out for Musaba on 65 minutes. Quote
TheExile Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Similar test to Portsmouth in that it will have spells of bombardment which isn’t our strong point. Quote

KrolMong Posted December 1 Posted December 1 I would go with this… Beadle Valery, Iorfa, Lowe Valentin, Charles, Bannan, Johnson Ingelsson, Smith, Gassama Gassama is the x-factor today. They are not mobile defensively and he’s very good on the turn into space. I want Ingelsson to get as close to Smith as possible. Quote

If Ihekwei is fit and ready then actually we'll be better equipped to withstand that type of battery. He's significantly better in the air defensively than Bernard. Quote

KrolMong Posted Sunday at 15:13 Posted Sunday at 15:13 Ball watching from Iorfa. In fact all the way through the Derby build up. He’s stood on Adams all the way through that build up, but at no point looks at where he is. Quote
owl71 Posted Sunday at 15:25 Posted Sunday at 15:25 Poor so far. Sloppy in possession and not much intensity out of it. Quote
Chelters Posted Sunday at 15:25 Posted Sunday at 15:25 Iorfa doesn’t work as the central defender for me, it’s not his game. Ihiekwe does it a lot better. Quote
KrolMong Posted Sunday at 15:36 Posted Sunday at 15:36 Even at 1-0 down, if Wednesday up the tempo by just 5%, and can keep the ball for more than 3 passes without an unforced error. We will still win this game. Quote
owl71 Posted Sunday at 15:45 Posted Sunday at 15:45 Bit better last 15, without creating a great deal. Half time team talk needs to be a bollocking. Quote

cheat Posted Sunday at 15:48 Posted Sunday at 15:48 We’re looking a poor side this afternoon imo. Mind you I do agree that if we can just up it a bit we’re still in with a chance. Quote
DirtyOwl Posted Sunday at 15:49 Posted Sunday at 15:49 Would love to know the win percentage when Gassama and Musaba start. Neither have been terrible but it just doesn’t work when they start together 1 Quote
KrolMong Posted Sunday at 15:50 Posted Sunday at 15:50 It’s one of the worst games I have ever seen this. Derby are absolute dogger, but that’s being surpassed by us being even more dogger. It’s bouncing off us, we are dropping 10 yard passes 20 yards short. And we are doing loads of reactionary sprints, so this is where you break into the sprint way to late. You could make a whole raft of changes. But my immediate two are Palmer on for Valery and Windass on for Musaba. Quote
mkowl Posted Sunday at 15:50 Author Posted Sunday at 15:50 I am not sure what Rohl sees but Musaba and Gassama starting never ruddy works and it's not again today. Playing like we did in the 2nd half at Hull 1 Quote
owl4ever1867 Posted Sunday at 15:50 Posted Sunday at 15:50 Thought that was a dreadful first half. Iorfa at fault for the goal, just stood ball watching whilst the Derby player popped round him to score. Bannan has been utter garbage, his passing today has been atrocious, can't make a simple pass. Can't get the ball up top, Musaba, Gassama very quiet, Smith has had nothing. Massive team talk coming up here, couple of then need hooking. Quote
mkowl Posted Sunday at 15:52 Author Posted Sunday at 15:52 I think our XG of 0.01 is generous Was quite a strong back pass though Quote

KrolMong Posted Sunday at 15:52 Posted Sunday at 15:52 Honestly, if we can improve ball retention and up the tempo by 10%, we will win. There is sooo much space out wide, and they have two carthorses at full back that we will get joy without much work. Quote

So I get why he wants to play Gassama and Musaba to exploit that but it's no use if you don't have the ball and when you do it's a bad pass Quote
Chelters Posted Sunday at 15:55 Posted Sunday at 15:55 Can we just forfeit games at Pride Park and save ourselves the bother? Still traumatised by the game in 2000. 1 1 1 Quote

They have the space, and they have runners ahead of them and it’s either been behind them, or forcing them to check the run. Quote

KrolMong Posted Sunday at 16:16 Posted Sunday at 16:16 I literally haven’t got a clue where anyone is playing now. Shea Charles at centre half? Palmer in midfield? What I do know is that we have got a lot of forwards who are getting it in really good areas and making the wrong decision. Between they 50th and 55th minute, Gassama, Musaba and Smith have got the ball right on top of Derby’s back four without pressure, and made some terrible decisions on what to do next. Quote
