Teddy Nickelarse Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Shame about Famewo but from earlier soundbites it always seemed as though it would be late in the season before he'd be back. End of the year for Kobacki somehow sounds worse than 4 or 5 weeks too. Quote

He gives us that balance on the left hand side along with MJ, it allows Bernard to play in his rightful postion, thought Famewo had really upped his game since being dropped, I was guttedgor him. 1 Quote

Definitely agree about Bernard and balance but as AB says, Max Lowe is looking good left of Bernard. Different type to Famewo but looking a really good signing. I rate Famewo but I reckon it will be touch and go whether he gets a new contract offer in the summer. Quote

I remember him getting an assist through playing a tremendous long, accurate pass at Hillsborough, (though not which game.) It is a proper shame, this: both for him and for us. 1 Quote

M.Lowe is certainly an able player where Famewo plays but he looks way out his depth when playing the role MJ does, who has been superb down that left hand side this season, when he's not there there's a massive weakness down that side of the pitch, he's got an incredible engine. I think he's improving game on game. Neat and tidy rather than spectacular though. Doesn't have Johnson’s running capacity as you say, nor MJ's crossing ability. I have a gut feeling though that he'll also deputise ably for MJ when required now that he's settled in. Worth noting that MJ hasn't quite been up to his normal standards these past two games - injury or loss of form is inevitable and we've definitely strengthened our left side defensive options with Max. KrolMong Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Lowe is a ‘normal’ left back. That’s why he’s looked so comfortable playing the left of a three because there is less impetus on him going forward, and he’s a defender first. Liam Palmer is the same. I think he’s been really good since he came in. Very good reader of the game. Famewo is a blow just because he’s a good championship centre back he’s good it all of the things he needs to be good at. But, he’s injury prone and that might work against him. Quote
