HoylandOwl Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I know it's going to be bloody cold tomorrow, but is it just me that looks forward to getting back to a game after a chuffing boring international break? I was talking to a Derby fan earlier, and although I did want to question when he said 'it's good to have proper football back' when he's a Ram... but still... 2 Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Let’s hope Cardiff don’t just park the bus and we are all sat freezing our nads off for 90+mins. I don’t think it will be easy but if we score first we will win. Quote
HoylandOwl Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Joe Ralls of the Bluebirds sez this…. You’ve got to work hard up there and really earn a win there. I’m expecting nothing less than a really tough game. They’ve got quality, they’ve got some good players but we like to think that teams are becoming aware of some of our qualities and some of the players we have that are creating and scoring goals at the minute. We’re hoping we can go up there and show a really good away performance and cause them threats as well.” https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/cardiff-city-man-makes-sheffield-wednesday-quality-admission-ahead-of-hillsborough-battle-4878001 Quote

Modern technology opens the door for vile stuff that goes way beyond what might be deemed decent or banter in any era. Lifetime bans are realistically impossible to enforce but we've had 3 examples in the past year where the club did the right thing IMO to ban the individuals. Quote

Reesh Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Referee for tomorrow is Andrew Kitchen making his first ever appearance at Hillsborough, he has reffed us once before, the 3-0 win at Morecambe in 2022. Quote

Baldock I don't know whether that culprit has been identified though the club did make an announcement as to how they viewed it. The Sunderland youngsters image and the WBA X post have resulted in bans I believe. The other definite ban was admittedly for the Coventry/Palmer racist gesture. So imprecise chronology and fine detail but the club is taking a stance re bans for certain behaviours. Quote
HoylandOwl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 What’s the weather like over our fair city? It’s absolutely pissing it down in Lincolnshire, but not with snow. Just rain… Quote
Reesh Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Woke up to light snow but got piss wet through walking the dog so should clear Quote
mkowl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Fair to say you gotta love Sky Sports + with weather like this. I mean I look back and just think I was a fucking idiot travelling as I did. But them making the M1 such an awful journey and the arse ache of parking, plus fuck all to do at the stadium makes that decision easy. Quote

mkowl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Spurs manager Ange absolutely nailing it when talking about the Bentancur matter. Basically saying people want to throw folk under the bus and that is it. Rather than as he says to use education as the way forward. Quote

I only have an 8 or 9 mile drive but have to park a brisk 20 minutes walk away. It's a vile day, I'm old, not 100% today and with a little shame, despite have a season ticket I'm staying home and watching on Sky. 1 Quote
mkowl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 (edited) Not a day for tippy tappy football and not with that line up 4 4 2 in old money Be 4 2 1 3 1 these days See if the ref spot Beadle playing goalie wag Edited November 23 by mkowl 1 Quote

Those were the days. Memories! 4 4 2 or derivative as you say. Quote
DirtyOwl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 433 with Windass playing a bit further forward in the three? Smith central with Ugbo and Gassama either side. I may be misremembering but did Ugbo not play out wide a few times last season? Rohl seems really persistent on playing Ugbo even with the horrid form Quote
holmesfield_owl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Ugbo isn't going to score sat on the bench. They'll come. Quote

Teddy Nickelarse Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Getting fed up of dominating first halves but unable to capitalise. Ugbo can't buy a goal - doesn't look sharp but no luck either. Quote
mkowl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Again vital we got the equaliser so quick. Such a poor goal to give away if you count the 47 chances to get a challenge in. Thought it was on OG from NG can't really tell. If Ugbo does score one he will score a few, irony the one he "scored" he took well, but when he has time to think it's the problem Quote
holmesfield_owl Posted November 23 Posted November 23 I quite enjoyed that half, we look fairly dangerous and I expect us to go on and win 3-1 Quote
TheExile Posted November 23 Posted November 23 As with many games, the plan is spot on. Execution costing us. Some of the play has been excellent. Until the final touches in both boxes Quote

At the same time our poor passing at times defensively is the best route for the opposition at times Quote

He massively over complicated letting the ball run over his body for a first time strike. Put it down to lack of confidence maybe & if that was last season I am sure we’d have seen that chance go in Quote
Andyben Posted November 23 Posted November 23 (edited) I like this set up, but I'd get McNeill on for either forward early this half Edited November 23 by Andyben Quote
Tylluan Posted November 23 Posted November 23 McNeill or Lowe buzzing round a more central Smith would work 1 Quote
