And I always remember him championing Leicester on t.v. when they first went into admin before getting promoted to the Prem the same season. They were the reason why points deductions were introduced. 2 Quote
80s Owl Posted November 11 Posted November 11 I used to enjoy MOTD but can't watch that clown presenting it, I might go back to watching it once he's gone. Quote
Harry Lime Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Whenever I think of the snide I just get that image of him grassing Gazza up to Bobby Robson (I think) for crying. Glad to see the back of him. Quote
HoylandOwl Posted November 11 Posted November 11 I don’t watch match of the day at all these days. No loss for me! 1 Quote
Andyben Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Wonder where his pompous self-righteous face will turn up instead Or will he concentrate on sagging young girls behind his wife's back? 1 1 Quote
EastCraigsOwl Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Next stop, get rid of Jonathan Pearce and the wifey commentators. Make MotD great again. Quote
Skamp Posted November 12 Posted November 12 To be fair, I could present MOTD, come on - it's not that difficult. Up next is Everton versus Arsenal - wait 15 minutes, talk about what we've all just seen for the next 20 minutes drawing circles around Saka showing him cutting in from the right and then announce, now for Manchester City vs Liverpool - and repeat. A 45 programme dragged out for about 90 minutes just to pander to him, Shearer, Murphy etc. Quote

Hirstys 12th Pint Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Jermaine Jenas will be gutted. Give Mark Chapman a free transfer from MOTD2. Probably hire Kelly Cates instead though. Quote
Skamp Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Alex Scott, Jill Scott or Gabby Logan to be involved somehow you see. Or Clare Balding - she gets everywhere [mind you. she's quite knowledgeable on the stuff I see her involved in] Quote
lobster Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Or are the BBC clearing the decks . Given the financial constraints at the BBC questions are being asked is the price of the last deal ( £211 million for 3 years ) worth renewing , the viewing figures are not that great as most people have seen goals/highlights on other platforms Quote
HoylandOwl Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Alex Scott is the front runner for the job apparently Quote

Can see Shearer going as well after the World Cup. Jug ears will continue with his TNT Sports stuff and probably end up on beIN sports or with Al Jazeera covering the Saudi Sunday League. Quote

He has lots of contacts in that part of the world, by all accounts Quote
tomcore Posted November 12 Posted November 12 I haven't watched it in donkeys years. I really don't care about the EPL because we aren't there. It's a shame because I used to watch any game. I don't even live in The UK and certainly wouldn't pay for a TV licence if I did. I've cancelled Netflix and Amazon. So much crap content pandering to things I don't really enjoy. I'm sure MOTD will be following that trend. I'll stick to YouTube Premium for now. 1 Quote
Tylluan Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Lineker will still collect millions from the BBC anyway. His company make half the podcasts available on BBC Sounds Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Not watched it since 2000 so couldn’t give less a feck. 1 Quote

I'm the same, I really can't be arsed with the whole sensationalist shit around the Premier League on 'Super Sunday'. This and the whole absolute oversaturation of the game across all TV now. If I notice a games' on, I might watch it if I can be arsed. But the majority of the time, I can't. 1 Quote

Watching a game live on TV used to be an event especially the Champions League midweek games now it's wall to wall and becoming a chore, can't remember the last time I watched an EPL game all the way through. 2 Quote
