Go on then lets go early on this one.

After a decent confidence boosting performance v Norwich we go into the dreaded Derby at Bumhole Lane with renewed hope.  Absolutely have these games but come Sunday will be buzzing for it.

Come on Danny - get the boys fired up and extend that reputation of yours.  Also get Pato fed on raw red meat for his last 20 minutes cameo to bring home the bacon.

Well. It looks like it’s going to be the first sheffield derby I’ve missed in ages, in terms of not even being able to watch it.

The lad has a game, 12.30 KO and my missis can’t take him, as she’s already committed to something that can’t be changed.

I’m gutted I’ll miss it but,… I want to be at the lads game anyway too. Radio in my ear I think is the best option so I get both in!

We’d better win! Lol… on both scores!

Will start to get nervous as I leave work tomorrow I have to see their ground out of my work window on a daily basis. Come on Wednesday I’m not expecting to win but anything could happen we all know that.

Going in a box which is mixed but I’m not keeping quiet so fuck it 🙌🙌🙌🦉🦉🦉💙💙💙

As I genuinely hate these games I would take that as a win and leave the phone in the car.

My disappointment is my weekend plans to visit old work friends is postponed due to the host being unwell, but the timings would have meant me driving during the game and not listening.

Definitely marmite these local derbies.

Oh they’re marmite. I’m disappointed to be missing it now, but I know, that once these games kick off when I watch them. It’s horrible…. Until the final whistle if we’ve won!

I'd get that window bricked up!  I'm sure, if you explained the circumstances, you'd be able to get a grant towards the cost.

Bound to be one available under mental health, wellbeing, etc.

Any tickets going spare 😀.  Got offered a spare season ticket sat with my Boss in John Street but politely declined.

Hope all goes off without nakor incident outside the ground but can't see it what with the amount of time since last Derby coupled with the tragic death of the Wednesday fan last year.

Not looking forward to it whatsoever. Probably due to the length of time since the last one.

Think the "up to 20 mins" locked in afterwards is a dismal idea. Makes it absolutely chuffing obvious who you are when you're walking away and also gives the so minded (mindless?) cowards plenty of time to pick their ambush spots.

Their fans seem quite smug/confident. Would make it sweet if we beat them.

We are just so unpredictable

Them I work with are very confident that they will beat us quite easily.

I think it will be a lot closer game than they think, I'll be happy to come away with another 0-0 win. 😁

Giving this one a miss. Stay safe everyone who is going.

It's a pity when away regulars like you two feel you have to, Lyn.  Can understand it, though.

Just over seven years ago an away team arrived at a Sheffield derby as underdogs. They were not far out of a spell in League One and had a highly rated up and coming manager.

The home side had the better squad on paper, with some players costing millions, and were quietly confident that their superior quality would see them through.

The away side went for it and made a mockery of the apparent superiority of the home side, winning with room to spare and having one of their best derby wins ever, and have had the bragging rights ever since.

It has happened before and it can happen again.

Time for the worm to turn.

Come on Wednesday.

Anybody interested in times of goals scored comparison...

Here are both Teams...

image.thumb.png.f59266f725187d73979fb86218ce566a.png

image.thumb.png.499c1dade46b9349d35adfacdbc8ab97.png

Up until the last game they played, where the opponents had someone sent off...

They had not scored after the 66 minute, in any game.

Which means

They had not scored after the 35th minute of the first half

They had not scored after the 21st minute of the second half

They come out all guns blazing at the start of each half, but looks like they cannot sustain it.

I've noticed the same, they do really think they're going to win easily, will make it epic if we can get something.

Great post mate.  It’s probably bollocks, but I’m getting quite nervous and that put a smile on my face.

I think I preferred the wait the day I had to go to the dentist for 2 hours of root canal work than this.

I can see why people love these games and it's perhaps difficult for them to understand why others hate them. I think it is the huge increase in jeopardy, maybe as derbies go it is a relatively rare event, maybe some have been era defining eg Boxing Day changed the city dynamic for a decade.

Same starting 11 as Tuesday then

Not surprised as whilst Ugbo is not firing on all cylinders he does give some pace and energy up there compared to Smith
