So after the efforts at Brentford in midweek which ended in disappointment it's back to Hillsborough to face Watford on Saturday.

7th placed Watford head to S6 six places and four points above Wednesday, they have a similar goal difference to ours mind sitting on -3.

Over the last six they have won 3 and lost 3, the Owls have won 3 drawn 2 and lost one.

After an opening day away win at Millwall it's been 5 straight defeats on the road for Tom Cleverleys men which they need to arrest if they are serious about challenging for the top six.

Oddly we have a very poor record against the Hornets and our last home win came way back in March 2010

5 straight defeats.... If we make it 6, then he might be the next to have the 'corner flag - club statement' come up....

Pretty much as expected,

Good to see Otegbayo given a place on the bench, though probably needed as much as a reward for playing pretty well

Whether it is reward or necessity it is fantastic for the younger lads to see there is an actual pathway to the first team and the manager is willing to put his trust in them, something we've bemoaned previously about it.

Great cross by Johnson who’d looked up prior to getting it in.  Not convinced it was meant for Smith mind 😎

They all count. 😉

Important we get the next one too

That was absolutely diabolical by Bannan for their goal, get your fucking foot in man.

Shouldn't  have come to that though, Gassama who's otherwise playing well switched completely off for the free kick (which IMO Shouldn't have been given anyway) just left his man yards free.

I didn't notice him do that thought it was for the "foul"

No, he brought the ball down as the ref blew, but then while he complained he carried on with his pass to Windass, which just looked like he had done it on purpose.

Still shouldn't have booked him for it though.

How the ref doesn't give a foul then half a second later does

Wrestle in the box only if it's an attacker.

Clear foul probably marginally outside the box. Possibly ref bottled that decision. He's made some strange calls.

Yeah, it wouldn't have been a penalty as i saw it, but definitely a foul.

What the fuck has happened to us though. How can we be so poor after a decent 1st half

Fair to say we would not have got that penalty but it was clumsy, but the first part of this half is that in a nutshell

Absolutely diabolical defending from Iorfa and Bernard for the two pens, although it was a shocker from Charles leading up to the first pen.

It’s an incredible drop in levels from us. There was nothing happening in the second half until the mistake, but the collapse and the 30% drop in levels is quiet astonishing.

Had a shocker this half. Two bad pens to give away although every pass is misplaced, short or just intercepted.

We could’ve and should’ve been out of sight in the first half.

I mean if it had not been confirmed they had, you would be convinced the players had not been paid with this performance

Unless they were checking the payslips at half time I don’t think this if true has affected the performance.

The 5th sumed it all up.

More possession, more shots, more corners. 4-1 down. One of those days.
Write it off and move on.

Millwall at home last season....

It was tongue in cheek, but maybe they had a few quid on conceding this many

The 2nd half performance is however one of the most horrendous in a very long time. Stats can lie and the entire team need to be ashamed of it.

Ref was as bad as our performance. Watford are bang average and the result is more of us having a nightmare than them playing well.

I don’t want to see Palmer at centre back again, it’s not necessarily that he costs us goals but his first thought when on the ball is to go sideways or backwards. He never makes a forward pass that kills any momentum.

Gary Neville said he used to get killed by the manager / teammates if he didn’t either play up the wing or into the striker and the systems etc are different but this should be the same principle.
