Andyben
It seems whoever is in charge of England, is repeating mistakes of the past by trying to get Foden, Palmer and Bellingham in the team at the same time. Palmer is flavour of the month, so everyone seems to want him playing instead of Bellingham or Foden. Edited October 14 by Andyben

Looking at how lacklustre the Euros were for most teams and the common belief that it’s down to the number of games, we should be using our squad to our advantage. Established a high-energy style of play and rotate the players. It’s how Man City manage it, so why not at international level?
Beaconowl
It’s been a problem through the ages. To name but a few: Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Lampard, Gerrard.

KrolMong
I don’t think anyone knows his best position, and that’s the issue. Last year at Madrid, he played as a 9 or a 10 and was given freedom because Valverde and Vinicius stayed wide, this season he is playing deeper and the consensus out of Madrid is that he’s not been great. You can’t play him as a 10 for England when you have Foden, Palmer etc who roam. He has to play in a team where players keep width, so he can have freedom. Long term he’ll be an 8, but he struggles with the defensive side and he gives the ball away an awful lot (his distribution is poor). A lot of that he will learn though. Hes an elite player but it doesn’t mean he has to play every game.

He lost his place in the finals through injury. By the time he was right Hurst had done very well in the 1/4 final. Ramsey bravely chose Hirst and almost everyone would say he called it right.
