She's gone to the PGMOL to be the new head of women's officiating and will also head up the new fast track coaching system being set up.

The idea is to have more female officials in the PL and EFL within three years but it's diversity signalling. Where does it leave the pathway for male officials if they know they might miss out because of a quota

If she's organising refs'training, god help them!  And the womens game!!

Like every bloated organisation when it says 'head of' they aren't taking a hands on approach to the actual organising.

She's the poster girl. The one who, rightly or wrongly, was fast tracked into the men's game and up to the highest pinnacle. She fell short, for whatever reason, but PGMOL and the PL and EFL were left with a situation they'd created that they couldn't bury as a failed experiment, especially as the French, Spanish, and Italians had had FIFA accredited female refs in men's football since 2019.

So to solve the fact she's not up to the standard you ask her to retire and give her the job of 'leading' the next generation.

UEFA want 20% of officials at the next Euros to be 'identifying as non male' (make of that what you will) in order to show diversity and inclusion within the sport. Seeing as it's being hosted in the UK, the FA want to send one all female crew and that's why the timeframe of regular PL games within 3 years has been placed.
