I know there's loads of clubs do this, and we've done it before in having a back of shirt sponsor...

Doesn't sit well with me us having a betting company on there. But, not my decision of course.

We play in the Sky BET championship so can't moan about a betting sponsor really

I think its a case of if you cant beat em join em when it comes to betting sponsorship. Its not like football has morals anyway! More interested in who will be on the front of the shirt!

I was about to say summat along those lines. I would prefer it if betting and online companies weren't the sponsor but I ain't going to get on my moral high horse about it either

Mate I know that, and I think that's a joke but that's another story.

Although it was almost inevitable at some point that it would happen, it doesn't mean that we can't voice our disapproval if people are disapproving of it.

The club do so much good in the community, have made some great moves over the years, just don't like this one, that's all.

Get your concern, I've known folk who's lives gamblings destroyed and equally others who gamble and are totally in control, but if the league we play in is sponsored by thus companies these types are gonna get took on board. Anyway Chuppa Chupps could lead to obesity and rot yer teeth.😉

Have any other Club put out a similar statement ?

It sounds like a Kier Starmer press release and also like trying to get in The Stonehouse circa 1990 !

Not that I know of..I'd guess the club has got wind of the amount of people on twitter and a certain other fansite giving it the big one about "sticking it to chansiri" by buying cheap knockoff shit from china.

De rigeur for that site.

Official statement is entirely reasonable barring perhaps the bit about wearers at home matches potentially being asked to leave. Official merchandiser issuing warning against fake copies. Fair enough

BTW I saw the odd snide away shirt last Saturday. Odd rusty orange - not a great look IMO especially when seen against the superb genuine ones.

There’s loads of em who have put out things about it in the past, Liverpool, Rangers, even Motherwell and our neighbours.

Most of them are like this from Stoke, under the banner of ‘brand protection’

So Wednesday only doing what many other clubs do

Its the fact there are threads pointing where to buy knock off products - that would piss me off if I owned IP

I mean the fact folk have the nerve to go to the Club shop to request the name and number added, but they question the morals of the Club

My request is the term WAWAW is not permitted anymore - because lets be honest a good chunk of our fan base are right *****
