So my point to Staton is that his responsibility journalistically is to focus on the overall picture and not just the body language of Rohl

His body language is much better than this time last January, when they were all prophesying him leaving after not being backed.

They've come out with the same story in every window since relegation.

"Manager looks stressed, makes vague comment, must be leaving, Chansiri's done for"

Are people really falling for it again, or is it just wilful ignorance?

It’s people hearing what they want to hear to advance their anti-Chansiri agenda.

And then the local journos lap up the social media engagement so think that is what fans want to hear, so they post more of the same and the situation perpetuates.

Understandable but imo the journalists should rise above it, difficult though as they have paymasters to satisfy.

Been debating transfers etc with Rob Staton on X this afternoon, on the grounds of expectations vis a vis financial headroom. He is not really interested beyond raising the supporter hackles on DR's comments about Chansiri. I suggested a journalist should be more rounded in what they report, I expect to be blocked imminently.

Checked out your X conversation with Staton.  What a nupty he is.  Obviously didn't understand or want to converse regarding P&S and this being a potential limitation on spending.

I do find his anti DC slant very poor form from a supposedly balanced / impartial BBC employee.   Amazed DC has not got after him as well as some of the sabre rattlers on other forums.

His anti DC rhetoric is cos his NFL loving buddy Shaw was lampooned for being a fake.

My slightly more blunt suggestion to him re. this saw him immediately blocking me on X. Hearing him disrespect someone on FH for having a more favourable view on DC than his own cemented my lack of respect for him as a presenter.

I would suggest that DC has taken legal advice and just lets it blow over.

Can you imagine the negative press if the club, or DC, went after a BBC presenter legally? He stays just the right side of opinion and conjecture. Time and time again you'll hear him say "but why are other fans saying different?" "The rumours suggest..." "The stories coming out are..."

But as for the other sabre rattlers, that go a lot further, I'd be going full Dave Allen and hitting those forums hard.

Was thinking more of restricted access to the Club for Staton as opposed to legal stuff.   The detractors on other forums is s different matter as a fair few sail very close to the wind.

There’s the usual dozen or so regular knobheads on there who hijack every single thread & turn it into their hate filled, agenda ridden bollox!

Showed it to my Coventry supporting mate who honestly thought it was a parody account produced by pigs!

Saw the light a long time ago pal but, along with a few others, just kept on challenging everything they said……. And then the censorship began, just the odd sentence at first, then whole paragraphs & finally complete posts!

Eventually 3 of them all complained that they felt threatened by me which resulted in a lifetime ban 🤷‍♂️

If anyone still goes on there just have a look At Royalowlisback, dickturpin & nannan!

They hate everything about Wednesday & Wednesdayite’s, ganging up together on everyone who doesn’t follow their hate doctrine…….. Wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t one & the same person!

There are probably less than 10 posters on there who are pretty knowledgeable and make it worth visiting.

I honestly reckon that if they left, the entire site would die as they drive most of the casual traffic.

The club actually did similar with the Star's Tony Pritchett late 60's (ish) for over-stepping the mark as a reporter - and to be fair he was highly regarded in his field. Ended up swapping over to S2 and being replaced by Paul Thompson.

It reads to me like the main purpose of the article was to ensure that he continued the "the manager and chairman aren't talking" bullshit and he just put the name of any defender who might be available for loan to dress it up as a story.

We’re being linked with Harry Clarke from Ipswich

Right footed right back when we already have Pol, Valery, Palmer, and Iorfa. Not exactly the left footed left sided player we need. Not a natural leader either.

Ipswich have made him available for loan though as he's fallen down the order. Contracted until 2027.

Iorfa's prolonged injury absence could be why we're now being linked with Harry Clarke.

Would make us very top heavy in that area when Dom returned, though

Left footed CB and a LWB

Cover for Chalobah / Charles in def mid.

A proper 10.

That's all we need.

If we can get a bloke to score 10/15 in arse end of the season then we will but big gamble

Its not beyond realms of possibility that Ugbo, Musaba and Lowe all put another 5/6 each in between now and April so why chance it with someone else who could flop

Do you think the imbeciles in our fan base ably supported by the local media would still see that as "lacking ambition". Or Rohl not being supported. The long interview with Rohl Thurs / Fri where Staton was trying to chip away on the discord, had Rohl more reflective and saying that the key requirement is improved quality not just change for change sake. And how tough to find that quality is

De-rigeur for him. Irritating and likely agenda driven.

According to Crann Southampton have until Wednesday to make a decision on Shea Charles.

Surely him being allowed to play Saturday speaks volumes, and that they also see his stock rising more staying with us for the remainder of the season.

Yeh, cup tied now which would be the games he'd definitely start.

Been told we've turned down the chance to take Alfie Dorrington on loan from Spurs. Failed a medical (had a lot of hamstring problems this season) and looks off to Aberdeen instead.

Harry Toffolo is apparently being made available by Florist.

I can't believe we would be in with a shout but he's a cracking LB and would love him at S6

I’d be all over that like a rash if possible.
