Beirut is nice this time of year.

Always a funny memory for me: when I worked in Saudi when I was a lad. Our firm had a reward policy for long service employees, (not that any of us wanted to hang around for any of them.)

20 years: a gold Rolex watch.

25 years: same but with a gold strap.

10 years: a holiday in Beirut.

(I'm sure it had been very nice previously but at the time there was a civil war between about six factions and the airport there was being shelled.  No-one had thought to update our manual.)  🙄

A lot of places in that region were alright until the Islamic Fundamentalists took over 😏

Which was about 40 years before I went out there!  🙄

An absolute multiplicity of 'stories' that I won't be putting on here.  Even though the bastards never pain me my pension.  👀

Musaba/Gassama running at him, he’s not got a chance.
Don’t let him shoot though….

He got violated when he came on for Worst Brum when we beat them at th end of last season.

Adam Reach to Swansea?

Just in time to face us

Swansea already have 24 'in squad' players registered so can only register one more and Cyrus Christie is on trial as well and he was on loan at Swansea and did quite well.

Swansea have just binned their head of recruitment and Williams has constantly moaned that he wasn't allowed to bring in another forward (Langstaff) and a wide player. Reach could either role but Christie is more likely to get the nod as the right side is more pressing for Swansea

Reach just gives the impression of a player that coasted once he got to a decent standard and was paid accordingly.

Bollocks - He was absolutely carrying our team at times, played up front, central midfield, third centre half as well as all the way down the left, and often on the right.

I am saying he coasted once he got to that level, he could have played at a higher Premier League level with a bit of greater  application

I don't think he could, he found his level that's all.

Can't fault his application just had a languid style.

Bet you booed Shez and Waddle...

Same people who called him nesh said the same of Kieran Lee..... Just a weird way of them admitting they know fuck all about football.

Well aside from Sheridan being my favourite Wednesday player of all time you are spot on.

I don't think the West Brom fans were devastated when his contract ended, I thought he would progress in a better all round quality team and for what ever reason he didn't.

I don't recall slating him when he played for Wednesday either

We're you not one of those that routinely booed Shez when he had a difficult start at Hillsborough?

It wasn't a difficult start that got Shez booed. It was a game at home v Oxford in 91

Yeah I remember now, I thought that someone had said they booed him at the time and thought it had been MK

Nope not me, now if you mean Andy Sinton then yep.

I wasn't even at the game Sheridan got booed

I thought Reach was an above average player in a poor team with big injury problems. He did carry us in that second season but really paid for the departure of Bruce and the appointment of the utter dross that came after that. He was genuinely poor in his third and fourth year - which was made to look worse because his levels dropped so much.

Oddly enough. I happen to think he would have benefited from both Darren Moore and Rohl especially as a wing back which he was tailor made to play.

He'd be superb in that false 8 position that Pol V takes up on the right

I think the size of Reach’s transfer fee put a massive expectation in what we would get from some supporters, and that instantly put folks off him when he didn’t rip up the league, taking folks on and delivering crosses on a 2p every game, every time.

It reminded me a bit of when we got Andy Sinton, in that he had a sizeable fee, came in as the answer to our ‘left wing’ position yet neither ultimately didn’t end up working up to their potential for us, for whatever reason. Neither of them were ‘shit’, that is for sure

We're one of a number of clubs monitoring 18 year old Rory Wilson's situation at Aston Villa, as he refuses to sign a new contract citing 'lack of first team opportunities' as the reason. The real reason is he (in reality, his agent) wants to be the top earner in their academy.

Moved from Rangers academy and has been scoring for fun in PL2. If he moves then Villa will only be entitled to around £200k in training costs compensation.

He's currently training alone and Villa may look to loan him out in January just to get him away from the training ground.
