The local sports news showed him walking out of the building, with a box of belongings in hand, heading towards his car. In fairness, he spoke quite calmly when interviewed. Said he expected it, etc. Totally not the reaction I envisaged! Quote

Tylluan Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Unless they're going to employ someone unemployed like Potter, Xavi, Terzic, or Allegri then I think Van Nistelrooy will get the next four games to prove himself before the international break. He keeps them in the League Cup and gets wins against Chelsea and Leicester in the league and I think the job is his until at least the end of the season Quote
KrolMong Posted October 28 Posted October 28 They need to go knocking on the doors of Sporting and Leverkusen, and go and get a sought after coach with a burgeoning reputation rather than pick off the scrap heap. Although Allegri would be interesting if his English is up to speed. The bigger issue that whoever comes in is working with a piss poor squad that has cost a lot of money. There’s probably 10 at the club now that need bombing out, but given outlay and wages, they’ll be stuck. Quote

Skamp Posted October 29 Posted October 29 For nowt that if it brings them success. I was reading somewhere that Alex Ferguson has been removed from his role of Ambassador at the club. For this role he was trousering £2m per year. Yup, two million pounds per year. Part of the Ineos cost cutting measures. I think other savings relate to free drinks in training and so forth. Not sure the first teamers are impacted though, just those that don't matter to win immediate trophies Quote

All of their efforts to reduce cost have saved less than it cost to extend ten Hag’s contract by a year only to pay it off. Quote

Quite a few of lower level staff, you know, those who REALLY depend on their wages. Mate of mine left about 3 months ago, he said it was a bit of a mess behind the scenes. Quote
Tylluan Posted October 29 Posted October 29 The 'behind the scenes' workforce was massively over inflated. The first team kit manager was in charge of 20 other people, just for first team kit. They had two 'crews', one at Old Trafford and one at Carrington. The academy set up was even worse. There were 3 head chefs and 12 sous chefs, then all the other minor chefs and kitchen team that sit under them. 15 front of house receptionists and every executive had a PA 'crew' of at least 3. And that's before you count the normal office staff. Quote
