"Duncan Ferguson's Inverness Caledonian Thistle" is no longer a thing.

The club entered administration and Big Dunc is one of the first to receive his P45.

Good luck to them.

Imagine being the person that had to call him into your office to sack him...

Local businesses might.

The local sports news showed him walking out of the building, with a box of belongings in hand, heading towards his car. In fairness, he spoke quite calmly when interviewed. Said he expected it, etc.

Totally not the reaction I envisaged!

Ten Haag playing a full back as a striker alongside Zirkzee, with Rashford stuck out wide will see him on this thread by Monday

It’s like he’s trying to get fired.

Oh no. Not another one. I still haven't recovered from losing Third Lanark.

And paying the players fuel costs so they could get to training and to the games

Was it them training in the central belt of Scotland and only playing the actual games 'up north'?

Hope you're up to date with your diversity training once your new ownership is resolved...😂

Sorry sir, you're going to have to explain that one. Are they being taken over by a female?

The Brighton owner isn't it?

No idea. I'm not an ICT fan and haven't read anything about it.

The Brighton chap is chucking £10m into Hearts but that's not an ownership thing. Just an investment 🙂

I actually think they were unlucky Saturday, hit the bar twice, but that would only have papered over the cracks

But were they unlucky Sunday when they actually played

Unless they're going to employ someone unemployed like Potter, Xavi, Terzic, or Allegri then I think Van Nistelrooy will get the next four games to prove himself before the international break. He keeps them in the League Cup and gets wins against Chelsea and Leicester in the league and I think the job is his until at least the end of the season

They need to go knocking on the doors of Sporting and Leverkusen, and go and get a sought after coach with a burgeoning reputation rather than pick off the scrap heap. Although Allegri would be interesting if his English is up to speed.

The bigger issue that whoever comes in is working with a piss poor squad that has cost a lot of money. There’s probably 10 at the club now that need bombing out, but given outlay and wages, they’ll be stuck.

I think Xabi Alonso knows the Real job is his in the summer.

In talks with Sporting

Sporting are now saying that Man Ure have agreed to pay the release clause of their manager, around £8m.

We had Ashley's pants down, then, if we got £7m for Bruce and his team

For nowt that if it brings them success.

I was reading somewhere that Alex Ferguson has been removed from his role of Ambassador at the club.  For this role he was trousering £2m per year. Yup, two million pounds per year.

Part of the Ineos cost cutting measures. I think other savings relate to free drinks in training and so forth. Not sure the first teamers are impacted though, just those that don't matter to win immediate trophies

Yeah various cost cutting measures including making ~250 people redundant if I remember correctly. All of their efforts to reduce cost have saved less than it cost to extend ten Hag’s contract by a year only to pay it off.

Yep. There’s been a lot let go. Quite a few of lower level staff, you know, those who REALLY depend on their wages.

Mate of mine left about 3 months ago, he said it was a bit of a mess behind the scenes.

The 'behind the scenes' workforce was massively over inflated. The first team kit manager was in charge of 20 other people, just for first team kit. They had two 'crews', one at Old Trafford and one at Carrington. The academy set up was even worse.

There were 3 head chefs and 12 sous chefs, then all the other minor chefs and kitchen team that sit under them. 15 front of house receptionists and every executive had a PA 'crew' of at least 3. And that's before you count the normal office staff.

The grim soccereconomics in a nutshell. Like the season ticket you pay for covers about 2 hours pay for an average Championship player or summat daft like that.

Its part of the same failings.

Seemingly unlimited income means you lose all sight of what is a reasonable expenditure.

Some really random names there.
Alun Armstrong - 1990s powerhouse

Lee Clark - a bit underrated but always came across badly.
Fenton - did he win the league with Blackburn?

Nelson - 2005 memories
Jon Shaw - Was a future star for us.
