Snap
Really pleased for them and the city as well, not before time, it's been mooted for long enough. I can only see them getting stronger when this gets done. I'd like to see us play them up there sometime, hopefully not a league match though, I was thinking about a friendly. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-67450436

Cosied up with the Pigs I seem to remember thinking the same at some point but for the life of me I can't remember why now. Them playing in Derbyshire just didn't seem right, I'm pleased for them anyway and the City itself. They'll be a lot more accessible to Sheffield folk now as well. I've never actually been to any game of theirs, so who knows, I might even make the effort, if it all goes ahead which I think it could well do. I remember them trying to move back into the City previously, at Olive Grove funnily enough if I remember correctly.

Didn't they have their anniversary game at the Sty and it kicked off a cosy love fest with the pigs trying to claim Sheffield FC as their heritage. Tylluan
Long time since I've been that way but isn't that part of Meadowhead an absolute nightmare for road congestion.

That could well be what Reesh is on about then, I remember something had happened but couldn't remember what. As far as the pigs making claims on them then that would be totally out of character for them, wonder if it made the honours board, or maybe they could name a stand after them. It always used to be although not that I've ever been a regular visitor myself. My eldest sister (RIP, god bless her) worked for Sheffield Transport all her life and I think she used the club house (Stones addict she was and could neck it as well. She'd drink me pint for pint all night long but she'd have 2 halves to my pint as it was uncomely is those days for a woman to drink from pint pots). I also think she used the bowling green there, if they had one, not sure. She certainly took the game up in later life. But from memory the place always seemed to be like an exposed big traffic roundabout.

Pretty much so, yes. Avoid Woodseats in particular like the plague. And after major rebuilding a few years back, I think Meadowhead roundabout is four lanes now. Certainly the outer ring road coming from Norton is four lane as traffic attempts to get past the newish shopping mall next to the tennis centre, etc. Probably the biggest traffic problem would be to exit and turn right after games onto the road from Bradway to Meadowhead as it passes the ground. As some posted on Twitter, it would help if a second entrance / exit was built where traffic heads up the A61 from the Dronfield direction: that could then be used to exit and turn left onto the A61 towards Meadowhead afterwards. Those temporary traffic lights don't help either. Top end of Piper Street, past McVities, up to the bank on Birdhall Lane. There's talk it's all going to be one way now. 1

One of the most under rated comedy series, pure genius

Horrific since they opened the retail park on the old Norton college site, particularly as they designed the car park so badly. Parking is pretty much non existent round there too. Otto_Man
So what's that then 50-100 cars with nowhere to park?
