Didn’t rangers do something similar with long term STs ending in disaster

I think someone on here called it "frontloading" imagine if the uptake for these tickets had been good, he'd waste the money and then have nothing going forward, suicidal.

Rangers didn’t sell long term season tickets, they raised a loan secured on future ticket income with an external lender.

Craig Whyte used the funds to purchase the club and was then accused of fraud on the basis that he did not make it clear that this was how he funded it. He was cleared though.

He then put the club into admin as there were some huge HMRC amounts due on a failed tax avoidance scheme. Whether he already had this in mind when he bought the club is conjecture but the attempt to phoenix it failed due to the lenders not being too happy as you might expect.

The main difference to us is he effectively had nothing to lose as he had not put any of his own money in.

Frontloading is what Ridsdale did at Leeds that ended up in admin for them. And what the Prince is doing at the pigs that will also lead to admin next year.

I have got it now.

He knows they are going next year, so he has done us this year so that they have to copy us again.

He definitely knows his one-upmanship 🤬

He’s playing a very dangerous and very silly game, and this is only going to turn more supporters against him.

I think this latest ‘news’ has turned 99% if not everyone against him.

You can see that on here, those like myself who’ve remained largely quiet, waiting and watching so to speak aren’t sitting now without saying much.

For me now; DC has to go. His position is untenable. This is the straw that broke the camels back.
But, we know he won’t want to cut his losses, and it seems he’s that stubborn he won’t see that and his heels are firmly dug in. Which is the biggest worry of all

One other point to make with apologies if I’m coming across as a know-it-all.

To make an offer of shares to the public involves quite a lengthy and complicated onerous process mandated by the FCA. So that is not an option in the short term.

He won’t take any less than what he feels he is owed, which is not aligned with the real value of the club. Milan had his pants down when he bought it, and the club is not worth anywhere near the numbers that even Milan sold it for.

He wants upwards of 60 million. He’ll be lucky to get 30, and as a league one club, lucky to get 25.

Not saying for a miunte this isn't true but where has that valuation come from?

This isn't just frightening it's really embarrassing as well. I can't see what us ordinary supporters can do unless he personally raises a "Go fund me" appeal, the modern day equivalent of passing the hat round or bucket collection.

The evidence has been there for some time though hasn't it, these long winded rants were from a bloke under tremendous financial pressure. The Carlton Palmer fall out. The sacking of Moore for wanting a pay rise (I don't believe either DC's or DM's account). The appointment of Munoz who was probably the cheapest. The ticket prices. I'm sure there's more.

Every night at 5 past midnight I do the New York Times Wordle, the last 3 nights the answers have been, Bleak, Grail and Phony. There's a message in there somewhere.

I think that sums it up. It’s a guy who cannot make ends meet, and the only way he can solve it is to sell which he’s not been able to do.

This could still be a bit of a power play, but, you don’t start talking to the local press all of a sudden and saying your money has run out unless it has actually run out. He doesn’t stand to gain anything from it by taking this route.

The fact of the matter is that the valuation of football clubs does not follow any normal corporate business logic.
With a few exceptions, they are loss making businesses that require ongoing funding even after you have made the purchase. Normally those sort of businesses go for £1.
One of the reasons that clubs like us have a value in football world is that there is the potential to get to the PL, when suddenly hundreds of millions become available. Or of course there is just the ego boost of owning a club which some billionaires will pay for.

I don’t think there is a queue of potential buyers out there at all. But, as I said earlier, there might be more than one way of doing a deal.

Was buzzing after the game. That first half was fucking amazing, 5-0 at HT wouldn't have been a shock. Watching Danny lap it up to Daddy Cool. His firsts win as a manager and all the fans have took to him (apart from Neville 🙂 )  That's what football is all about.

Daddy Cool playing repeat on mi wireless devices.

The Inside the club wher Danny head and kicks every ball. Getting a man crush here.

And that fucking idiot tips up the whole system asking us to empty our pockets! FFS.

I was behind him, he had good intentions, just shit business sense and advisers rifling through his wallet.

I'm all for positivity (not happy clapping) but fucking hell this is mental and can't see a way forward for him to continue.

P.s.

Why not ask hos advisers now for a borrow???

Now if that's the case, which I think looks pretty accurate (not the £60m bit though). Doesn't that put him way into negative equity territory? What with what's owed on the ground if he sold up for £30m and owes £60m in loans he'd be walking away with a  circa £30m bill, unless of course the new owner too that debt on but then he wouldn't be buying for £30m would he.

If that is the case he'd just go bust on us wouldn't he? I'm just asking mind, I haven't a clue about the loan stuff.

Would like to see an official statement / or DC interview with someone else other than the Star as i don't rate them one bit.

I've backed DC up-to now but if this is true then it's one step to far & a direct threat on SWFC.

We;ll see if anyone pout there is serious about buying us now as this is the time !!!

OK, I've cherry picked/stolen this from that other place. I don't know where it originated but if this is legit then heaven help us, because he can't. The stay of execution he's begging the fans for would just put off the inevitable, it isn't going away this. He's begging the supporters to save their club, or he's begging the customers to save his arse, we all get to choose which one.

As stated, I haven't a clue how authentic this is.

You are probably right here, he's always declined speaking to the local press in the past.

Anyone else find this a strange statement ?  Even for DC.

I reckon what he's saying is if you want to save the club you have to save me, we come together and are inextricably linked.

The pub singer was on TalkSport this morning spouting that he knows of people who want to buy the club and he could find others but Chansiri wouldn't listen. Also said that he spent two hours on a zoom call with Chansiri and he only got to speak ten minutes during that call.

For what it's worth Simon Jordan thinks it's all a bluff but does call Chansiri a 'clown' for doing it this way. That if he's willing to pay fans back plus interest then he could get money from a legitimate lender.

Didn't Mandaric used to do the same when he'd 'borrow' short term from his mate in Malta?

I’ll wait for an official statement before casting judgement.

He’s never gone through the local press before to release his stories and we know how badly this has been received, so I doubt he’d do it this way but it will all come out in the wash.

It reads like an off the record rant / conversation, not an interview and certainly not a statement.

At least we all got to enjoy 24 hours of the season.

Whether it is or not, can we all agree its not becoming of the owner of any business, never mind that of a local football club.

I think it's totally pathetic conduct

Last 24 hours getting a fair amount of press coverage in Thailand.

Interesting discussion in this thread below about Thai defamation laws too

https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/326052-press-coverage-in-thailand/#comments

More around the neutrality of reporting, very similar to how the German press works.

Interesting to see how his family take this.

I think the family money well may have run dry also  . Dodgy Dealings at the Thai Union Group saw his father and another Director resign because of insider trading which also involved the group . His brother is now Chairman

He doesn't seem to have a plan should anyone be daft enough to give him any money . A mate contacted the club with offer of funds but got a " thank you for your offer but we will be intouch should we need to " . As he has pissed off so many people how is he actually going to go about it . Set up a just giving page ?
