Oh FFS, not him now surely. WTF is wrong with these people. I think it may be due to them being holed up in an office all day dreaming up stories and never had to earn a shilling out in the real world, in industry, commerce, banking, buying & selling etc.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember DR signing a new contract at the end of last season for 3 years. When DC offered him the contract I'm sure he asked what support he'd be getting, he wouldn't have just signed up without assurances, he wouldn't need to do, his stock was so high at the time, he'd be in demand.

Where are we now? Bang on what was agreed I expect, in fact almost certain. Keep us up this season, have a good go at it next season, and then a really go at it  the season after if required.

He needs that time to install solid foundations, and if the foundations aren't right, the whole thing comes toppling down. We all would like to see us back in the PL, but we need to be prepared for it or it'll end in failure and humiliation and as much as I'd like to see us back there, I just think we're miles away from being ready.

First 'answer' from Miller and first load of bollocks

"They work slightly unusually in that each deal is brought to the chairman on a case-by-case basis rather than a budget as such."

There's a budget. There's a wish list. There's a plan. But the plan depends on players and parent clubs.

Of course there is a Budget and it would be fucking stupid if the bean counters hadn't got this modelled to feed into the debate

And to be fair both Alex Miller and Joe Crann in the article support the stance of more steady as she goes. That Brentford and Brighton did fail a couple of times to get promoted and I am sure their fans grew impatient and fearful that getting to the EPL would ever happen.

Whilst they will have blips and you can't forsee other issues you sit there thinking they aren't going anywhere soon.

Given I have long argued that the 2nd season under Carlos and the attempt to race to the line and then stumbling short was an unmitigated disaster. That it was built on sand and collapsed down.

The media are focusing on the role of Rohl. Thing is he absolutely should have an input but only as part of the bigger plan developed in house.

The 2 Clubs I mentioned had that plan, Brentford chopped and changed head coach a lot before getting Frank. Brighton still do.

So tap into Rohl's knowledge but you don't give him the keys. That is not how football works. The question is Chansiri doing the right things behind the scenes and the evidence suggests it's going the right direction. I like Rohl but to over indulge his position should not be done, nor should fucking our finances in a short term dash.

Basically our fan base are fucking clueless on a lot of this

Two clubs who went into admin and screwed folks over

Btw Bloom had Brighton on the cusp financially they were far more in hock to him than we were DC at any stage before hitting the big time, let's not gloss over that.

Wonder what rhe stir will say when Hamer is sold and demblades don't bring anyone else in for a fee?

They'll praise it, Danny Hall will have one eye on the troops.

Despite some over egged phrases and words I think it's  a reasonable article.  Not a journalist scoop but reasonable enough  opinion. It's  not 'Statonism'. Last paragraph/ last line especially is on the money for me.

I don't fret about not being ready for the PL as I'd  expect the first season to be a salutory experience whatever/whenever. Fan expectations would undoubtedly be an issue though -  but not necessarily unmanageable. The massive financial injection that goes with promotion would/should be a game changer for us - so long as it is prudently invested including in the training facilities, academy  and stadium rather than solely over committing on players.

I'm sorry Alan, but there's just too much conjecture and assumptions in that article for me. Some of us remember what you wrote about keeping Liam Shaw at the club and your thoughts on your mate Paul Cook.

Any perceived fall out between DC and DR are just made up shit floating around in your head, time to pack it in pal. Have a listen to this and point me to where our leaders aren't singing from the same hymn sheet.

That for Alan Biggs btw Teddy.

Pretty sure we were hearing that one last Summer from someone on here.  👀

And no, I'm not looking for it.
