Evening all.
2 weeks ago - unexpectedly and suddenly, our friend Danny Campbell passed away at the age of 49.
Danny leaves a fiancé Kirsty, two daughters and an extended family behind.
Danny is a Hillsborough lad, played for us as a young un, is a lifelong Wednesdayite and is well known in local non-league circles - having played for Worksop Town, Hallam FC and a number of other clubs over the years. He also played Sundays in the Meadowhall League for the best part of 20 years, mainly for Royal Earl FC. A regular in The Castle, Park Hotel and on Hillsborough Corner, if you've had a drink round Hillsborough, you'll probably know DC.
Danny would have been at the game this Saturday, his kids will be there on the North Stand.
The clubs has agreed an image of Danny on the screen at 49mins.
I know that we always rise to the occasion when requests like this come in, it would be amazing gesture and to his friends and family if a packed Hillsborough could possibly send him off in style by offering an applause on 49 mins.
