    I thought Frankie Detroit was Italian. Seems strange him being nominated for British sports personality of the year. I would have thought Ronnie o’Sullivan and Josh Kerr deserved a mention.

    Bale and Ramsey have been great players for Wales, but they are now well past their best. As a team they never laid a glove on England tonight, and it was probably a lot easier than many of us thought it would be.

    England controlled that match well. Senegal will be a lot tougher though, just hopes he sticks with same front three.

    Yeah baffling. Scholes Lampard and Gerrard so Eriksson plays by far the best best one out of position on left wings and international retirement follows. What is i5 with England managers

    Wouldnt be opposed to Grealish starting. Starting to realise how good it would have been to have Toney in squad. Would allow Kane a match off to get fit he could play against Wales

    Stick with back four. If walker can come in for Trippier that will give more pace and attacking from wide. Play Rice, Bellingham and Foden in middle. Kane, Saka and either Grealish or Rashford up front. More proactive straight away

    You know if we’re lucky enough to have a player like Zidane at his best Southgate would bench him for being too adventurous😀. He’d pick Mount and Henderson instead

    So Tired of Southgate’s favouritism. Can anybody explain Mount getting picked over Foden. Sterling done nothing all season, bang out of form yet still gets chosen instead of Rashford or Grealish. Kane didn’t play well yet Wilson who is in form never comes on.

    If Southgate is true to his word and picks on form Maddison surely has to go, probably with Loftus-Cheek. They offer more than say Phillips and Henderson this season surely.

    Did anybody watch this show last night. I was hoping for a bit more on the tournament rather than what seemed to be an hour long show with reminiscing hooligans.

    Wilson was an integral player for us. Struggled as a manager, his big signings Donnelly, De Bilde and Jonk were all terrible. Having said that the major problem for us at that time was Dave Richards. Must have been difficult working for him.

    Degryse on bench for Francis. Petrescu for Atherton, Alexandersson for Harkes and either Warhurst or Emerson Thome for Wood. I agree Waddle should be swapped with Di Canio positionally. Also think Pudil was a better left back than Nolan.

    Some strange choices, Pleat being the stand out. Any squad surely should have Alexandersson, Warhurst, Degryse and Petrescu in.

    Southgate did a great job initially in reaching a World Cup semi-final after Hodgson’s horrible side and the debacle against Iceland. The Players wanted to play and were a breath of fresh air after the self-absorbed, self interested so called golden generation. I do think however Southgate should have left after losing to Italy whilst he still had some credit in bank. I wouldn’t have a clue on who take over now potter and Howe are employed elsewhere

    Hope Potter does not end up at Chelsea. Ideally in my mind he finishes season at Brighton, and is then appointed England manager if Southgate quits after World Cup.

    Just looking at his Wednesday goal record he scored 48 goals in 133 appearances. I don’t think we realised at time how good he was. Only dawned when he left and was replaced by Booth. Another Pleat master stroke. Bould and Adams would not have a career now. Would be red carded every game

    Don’t believe Byers will be going to Blackpool. I don’t see them offering the money to tempt Moore , and I don’t think they are a big enough club for Byers to kick up a fuss. With FDB if he doesn’t want to sign a contract we should look at letting him go. Wednesday have lost enough on players running down contracts

    Chelsea linked with Zaha along with Arsenal. If they sign manage him, Gordon and Fofana, Aubamayang and pay also Barkley up it just shows obscene amount of money clubs are willing to spend.
